The Lake Country Mom has been growing every single day! We are celebrating 5 years of blogging in lake country! The Lake Country Mom was started by a girl with a dream and a vision! Never did we ever think we would be so successful! So this year we have added contributors to our site! That’s right! We have featured guest bloggers before, and have great feedback.
These amazing ladies each have a new personality to bring to the blog! A fresh voice, with new ideas and topics. Some will help with social media and event planning as well! I hope you come to love them as much as you have shown me love over the past 5 years!
Meet The Lake Country Mom Contributors:
About Me: Hi my name is Pamela, these days you’ll most likely find me somewhere amidst the antiques at an Auction somewhere, trying to find weird stuff to sell in Legendary-antiques shop and in our online auctions. If I’m not scooping up wares around WI, then I’m in my other world at Waxing Girl performing waxing services for some really amazing clients. I would consider myself super eclectic. I love to learn and am always finding new stuff to peak my many interests. I am married to an amazing husband who helps me in all facets of my work, and thank goodness for that, because I consider him my better half. I have two crazy dogs and last but by no means least, I have the worlds most beautiful daughter that I could not be prouder of. My daughter is 25 and as young as I feel, she has made me a grandma just two months ago. That’s me in a nutshell, making my life as peaceful as I can day by day! // Waxing Girl Site / Legendary Antique Site

I am originally from Kenosha and I’ve been living in Waukesha for 10 years. My hobbies and passions include: beauty and makeup, yoga, working out, learning about crystals and aromatherapy. My favorite holiday is Halloween and I am known for having an epic costume each year that people look forward to seeing. I’ve been known to plan my costumes a year in advance! Jennifer HocevarMy name is Jen and I am so excited to be one of the new contributors to Lake Country Mom! I live in Oconomowoc with my husband and our two busy kids. My son, Zach is 12 1/2 and in 7th grade and my daughter, Addison is almost 10 years old and in 4th grade. Most evenings and weekends you will find me tooling around Lake Country in my minivan driving kids to various sports and activities. My husband and I swear we used to do things on weekends that did not involve youth sports at one point in our lives but, for the life of us, we can’t remember what they were. If I do have free time, I love to write and dream of publishing a novel someday. I also love traveling and am a sucker for any DIY craft that lets me use my glue gun. I adore living here in Lake Country and can’t wait to share some of my adventures with you! // Follow along on Instagram // Follow Filling up My Cup blog
Kara PlowmanI’m a native Bostonian living the American dream in the Midwest. I’m a wife to Andy, Mom to Jackson, Emmy and our pug pup Bo, and a reality TV junkie. When I’m not working or spending time with family you will find me getting my nails done, shopping, cooking/ baking or sending memes to my besties. I love all things fashion, beauty and interior design! I rely heavily on Instagram for my inspiration. I have fallen in love with the Lake Country area and all it has to offer and am thrilled to be a contributor at the Lake Country Mom! // Follow on Instagram
Allison NelsonI’m a lifelong Wisconsinite and I’m so excited to be joining The Lake Country Mom!! I live in Delafield with my husband and my two kids. We are currently smack dab in the toddler years in my house, which means I have just started exploring family friendly activities, events and restaurants. I’m honored to be joining a team that helps bring these experiences to Lake Country families!! When I’m not wrangling my two little ones, I work as an OB/Gyn for Moreland OB/Gyn in Waukesha and Hartland. I love serving women in the community I live in. I started and run a Facebook group called Moreland Moms (feel free to join us!). It is an interactive group of 650+ local moms, helping and supporting each other through life’s greatest (and at times, most stressful) journey. In my free time, I love exploring local shops and restaurants. I love a good cup of coffee, a well arranged cheeseboard, a glass of red or a local microbrew. I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences in Lake Country with everyone! // Follow along on Instagram // Follow the Moreland OBGYN website + blog
Jessica HoehnI am a 35 year old mom of two boys, ages 4 and 2, with a little girl due in June. My husband and I have been married 10 years this June. We met in college, GO PURDUE! After college we lived in Montana and Pennsylvania before moving to Wisconsin in 2013. Our first home was in New Berlin and then this past July we moved to the Mukwonago/Waukesha area. You might say I’m still getting familiar with the area and all it has to offer. That’s something I have always loved about moving around, the chance to explore somewhere new. I have been a stay at home mom for almost 2.5 years now. Before staying home I was a Preschool teacher, which I LOVED, but I’m so happy and lucky I get to be home with my kids while they’re young. Our days are filled with a lot of outdoor time, both at home and at the local parks. We also enjoy going to the YMCA for swimming and the local library for new books and lots of fun and different programs. When the weather is nice you can also find us at the zoo. As you can tell, my exploration revolves around kids these days. While I don’t get a lot of time for my own hobbies right now, I do enjoy reading, journaling, playing volleyball and hitting up antique shops. I’m also a big sports enthusiast and enjoy watching my favorite teams play when I can catch the game. However, not being from the area my sports teams can be a bit controversial around here. Go Bears!!!
My name is Jody! When I began writing my for my blog, Story of this Mom, I thought it would last a week and eventually fall into the category of things I have started and not finished. Now, here I am three years later still writing for my sanity. This is about me trying to live life with some grace and dignity while finding plenty of time to binge watch shows on Netflix, online shop, and run the household. I am thirty-four years old, I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have two beautiful spirited kids. Over the last fifteen years we have lived in seven states, I like to consider myself a gypsy at heart. We have been in Colorado for four years, where we are raising our family in a small mountain town. We travel to Wisconsin quite frequently to give our children the opportunity to make memories with their cousins and family. If I am not blogging, I am a DIY enthusiast, lover of all vintage and farm decor, coffee addict, traveling, and most importantly spending time with my family and friends. That’s who I am. Feel free to stick around. / Story of this Mom on Instagram / Story of this Mom blog.
Hi! I’m Sarah, 36, and have lived in Waukesha for the past 10 years. My husband and I bought a home and got married in the same month last year—it was a crazy time, but when you find your forever home, you have to jump on it. (And what a way to start our new life together). My husband has two daughters, Violet is 11 and Samantha is 8 and they live with us half the time. The newest addition to our household is our pup, Letty, who just turned 1. She keeps us on our toes, stealing socks at every chance, but also gets us outside for walks and playtime. Becoming an insta-mom has brought its challenges but also many amazing experiences and I’m loving every minute of it. I love Waukesha and have my own blog about my experiences in the area. When I’m not out and about in the city, I’m enjoying time with my friends grilling out, drinking wine, and playing games—Uno is one of our faves. Or I’m in my kitchen trying new recipes or recreating ones I have had at local restaurants. FoodFunWaukesha Facebook // Instagram // Blog
Hi! I’m Jennifer. I’m an espresso addicted, wine loving, sarcasm user who swears like a sailor, but I do love Jesus. I’m a boy mom of two, ages 4 & 14 that keep my hands full as well as work full time outside the home. When I have a little spare time, I enjoy crafting. (I may or may not be addicted to Pinterest!) I love reading & long walks, around Target. I may have an obsession with shoes but most days you will find me in a pair of Converse. I am excited to be a part of The Lake Country Mom & share my stories & experiences. You can follow me on Instagram or on my blog.
•••Manasi ModyHi! I am Manasi (pronounced as Maan-cy). I am so excited to be one of the new contributors on Lake Country Mom! I am blessed to be living in the lake country area for the past 7 years. I was born in India, raised in Botswana, Africa and went to college in Knoxville, TN where I completed my Bachelors and Masters in Nutrition. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 8 years. We have a fun 4 year old boy and another on the way at the end of June. I love to dance to a good Bollywood song, marvel at a beautiful Southern African sunset and watch the snow fall on a cold Wisconsin morning. I find womanhood full of surprises, some pleasant and some not so much – so I am passionate about reading, collecting stories and writing about women keeping faith, living authentically and mothering purposefully. // Find me on Instagram.
I’m a Lake Country Native, born and raised right here playing in the hills and lakes of southeastern Wisconsin. My 3 children and 5 grandchildren are a dream-come-true, they fill my life with a crazy love and more adventure than I ever could have imagined. Together we enjoy all kinds of shenanigans; hiking, biking, art fairs, concerts, farmer’s markets and lots of food! A couple of years ago, I decided to turn my passion into a career, and returned to school for Architecture and Interior Design. I aspire to help families throughout the area create homes that are both beautiful and suit them perfectly. This is such an exciting opportunity to write about family, home, and community here on Lake Country Mom.
The UpCycle Girls – Tara Badertscher and Rebecca Dankert
Upcycling is a unique craft that when practiced correctly, can really make a difference. Enter: Tara and Becca – Two Midwestern girls with a passion for flea markets and dusty gold. Tara has over 15 years experience in woodworking and antique restoration, and Becca has a bachelor’s degree in interior architecture and over 10 years experience in the field of design. Together, they are the dynamic duo known as The UpCycle Girls! They thoroughly enjoy all things old and rusty, and are always in search of their next great find in America’s beautiful dairyland. Their mission focuses on bringing new life to old household items by flipping them into decorating staples or statement pieces. Additionally, they work to recognize sustainability by keeping unwanted furniture and decor out of landfills through the practice of repurposing and upcycling. Between the two of them, Tara and Becca have six kids, 4 dogs, 7 chickens and a fish (and are hoping to add more!)! They are busy wives and mamas who love doing almost anything outdoors, drinking strong coffee, traveling to new places, listening good country music, and junking until their nail polish chips off! // Website, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest
