I woke up one morning and decided to take my love of motherhood and searching for things to do in the lake country area and put it all in one place. I had this thought for awhile, what did I want to do? How would I do it? What would I call it? In July of 2013, The Lake Country Mom was brought to life. Two years later, it has exploded into an amazing community. I have created a brand, and hold to it. The Lake Country Mom is my heart + soul, my place to share with you, to connect with you, a place to find fun in lake country.
Without fans/readers/friends like you, all this would not be possible. There are thousands of you that follow and interact with us on social media. We are active everyday on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. I love seeing your shares, your comments, your likes and helping you with your questions. I was thinking how grateful I am that so many of you take the time to read what I write, and for all of the kind words and compliments I receive each day. I am thankful for the local businesses that have put their trust into The Lake Country Mom and have advertised with us or have worked with us. It’s truly humbling. I have met so many awesome people through the blog, fellow moms and local business owners, which I now call friends.
I thought, what could I do to express my gratitude and have some fun? Let’s throw a party! A blog birthday party! The Lake Country Mom’s 2nd Blog Birthday Bash! You were all invited and party is what we did! I wanted to put together a recap of our night. We celebrated on July 30th, 2015, on summer Thursday night.
I would like to publicly thank my mom, my grandma and my daughter for all of their helping in prepping, setting up and working while having fun during the party! They were amazing, I am so lucky to have such great support from my family! We had a little under one hour to set-up, and by did we work hard! We didn’t have much to decorate since we had the perfect backdrop of Loft 24, and with owner Laura’s help and guidance we pulled it off.
What was the best moment of the night for me? It was before the party even started, a few ladies popped their heads in early asking if we were ready (we weren’t, nothing like setting up right down to the minute!) and I popped my head out and saw a huge long line of gorgeous ladies all dolled-up in 50’s housewife attire with smiles–I waved and said, “Hello, it’s time!” I greeted everyone as they walked in the door, as each lady ( and a guy!) walked in I felt a sense of astonishment and felt my eyes swell with tears.
I knew at this moment I was destined to write for The Lake Country Mom. Every single worry, or struggle or moment I have wanted to give up in the beginning stages was worth it to me at that moment. I knew it, right then. They were all here to celebrate, not me, but my idea, my concept of The Lake Country Mom-our community we built together, our outlet to friendship and networking, and connection. A place to go to get advice from another parent, to find the latest info on the growing lake country area, a place to find out what fun events are going on locally, a place to see fun pictures, a place to read reviews of awesome products and businesses, a place to go to ask questions in hopes that someone can help. The Lake Country Mom has grown so much, as have I. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate every single, “like” or notification, comment and share on our social media outlets. I appreciate you “pinning” by blog posts. I appreciate you recommending our website to your friends and family.
I appreciate YOU.
“The Lake Country Mom is turning two + we want to celebrate with each of you!
Get out your aprons + put on your pearls, it’s time to celebrate with all of the girls!”
The night would not have been possible without so many generous local businesses that donated to our raffles, swag bags, and/or food or provided a service!
