How many of us can honestly say we are spending our days doing what we L-O-V-E? It takes a lot of guts, and major courage to follow your dreams and pursue your passion. That’s why I was so incredibly delighted when I read a news article featuring a story about an old co-worker of mine who had just opened her own boutique in Downtown Delafield. I couldn’t help but think as I was reading “wow, you go, girl!”. Here was a woman who had a great thing going for her in her career but still had the courage to make the leap and follow her heart. I was so anxious to get in the store, see what she’d done, do some shopping and get the whole scoop!
If you’ve never met Sarah, the second you do you will understand why she is going to do such an amazing job as an entrepreneur, business owner and shopkeeper. Her personality is infectious – she’s bubbly and spirited, and sweet, and kind. You can’t help but feel cheerful after you spend time chatting with her – and her store is a direct reflection of this personality. It’s vivacious, and sparkly – full of beautiful, unique pieces that are merchandised in a fun, and inviting shopping environment. There are little touches all around the store that are a reflection of the shop owner – a gorgeous silver glitter wall, a sumptuous velvet pink chair, fancy & fun, chandeliers – even the dressing room curtains are glamorous! The Delafield Main St. Boutique is SUCH a great addition to the neighborhood!
When chatting with Sarah, there are a few things that struck me as truly unique about what she’s accomplishing in her space. Sarah is a Delafield local – she’s been living about a mile away from the store for about 6.5 years and adores the neighborhood and the community. She’ll be a Delafield resident forever, she claims. Sarah is living her retail dream owning her own boutique, but more than anything else, she is living her dream serving her customers. She welcomes everyone with wide open arms and is ready and willing to give as much or as little help as desired. Need a new outfit for a summer outing? She’ll help you find and style something you love, and feel great in, in no time! She’s also successfully serving all ages of women – the Delafield Main St. Boutique is a great time out for you, your mom AND your grandma – EVERYONE can go home with something new to show-off in their wardrobe!
On my first visit, I brought along two wonderful friends who were loving the shop and trying on tons of fun pieces to showcase for our readers! One of the things you will notice as you shop the Delafield Main St. Boutique is the attention to detail on all of the items. Each piece has an extra special touch – whether it be exquisite crochet or back detailing, soft pleating and ruffles, unique button trims or even just the extra soft touch of the fabrics. There were SO many pieces we loved, but some of our favorites were the incredible high-waisted, pull on denim – comfortable, super stylish, and perfect for layering any sort of top over – along with a gorgeous printed paisley Kimono with pindot and tassel detailing, a mixed-media bomber jacket perfect for dressing up or down, a super-soft flowy waffle tank, and a fun plaid tunic tank with pearl buttons outlined in gold (perfect for a Memorial Day or July 4th party!).
The Delafield Main St. Boutique receives new product almost daily – and there’s no shortage of great basics, as well as statement-making fashion pieces to spice up your wardrobe. So stop in, say hi to Sarah, and treat yourself to something special – you deserve it!

Angela Isherwood
Hi there! I’m Angela – I recently turned 30 and have determined that this is going to be my year to embrace change and chase new dreams. My husband and I are going on 5 years married this Fall – we grew up not 10 mins from each other (Greendale/New Berlin) but never met until college (Go Badgers!). We have a spunky little girl who’s 1.5 years old, and another baby on the way this September. We are brand new members of the Lake Country community and are so excited to start this next chapter of our lives here. I’ve spent the past 8 years working in the tumultuous retail industry which has had major ups, and more recently, major downs. At this moment I am in flux – reflecting and re-evaluating what is best for me and my family as I make a career change. Personally, our lives revolve around family – we are lucky to live close to both of our parents, and adore spending time with our siblings, and nieces & nephews. I love all things Disney and know almost every lyric to every song. I’ll always remind my daughter it’s okay to believe in Magic. I adore a good book, a steaming cup of tea, any bowl of soup, a glass of Red, and putting pen to paper. I enjoy elaborate party planning, and wasting too much time on Pinterest and Instagram. I love eating more than I love cooking, and going out and trying new restaurants is a favorite way to spend our evenings or weekend afternoons. I am passionate about traveling the world, and exploring as much of it as possible together as a family. When I “grow up”, I want to plan incredible trips that excite, inspire and fulfill people’s travel desires. We adventure together as much as we can both near & far. I am honored to be a part of this community, and hope you will join me as I share fun things to do, local places to check out, and travel tips & inspiration for the family on the go! You can follow me on my personal instagram account or at my new, travel-focused account (or both!). Thank you!
