From Plain Jane to Hot Mama | My experience at EVEREVE in Brookfield

Ladies! Oh, I have something so much fun to share with you! First things first, I am not a fashion blogger. I am a woman, I am a mother, and I am in my mid-thirties, and let’s be real I have ZERO fashion sense. Ha! But I WISH I did. I love clothes. I love practical clothes, but I also love pretty things, dresses with pockets, I love jeans and leggings, comfy shirts and jackets, and even cute shoes. But, the problem is I don’t know how to put it altogether.

I recently connected with EverEve (325 High Street Brookfield, WI 53045) over at the new shopping center the Corners of Brookfield located right off Bluemound! Have you heard of them?

I was super impressed to hear the backstory about how EVEREVE came to be. The CEO, Megan welcomes her shoppers on their website with this message below (I think we can ALL relate):

That’s the thing, as much as I go shopping, and as much as I try to pull the perfect outfit together for “my body type,” I am always feeling defeated! Especially when my daughter was younger and trying to shop with her at the same time!

Well, anyway, let me tell you about my experience working with the great stylists over at EVEREVE at the Corners of Brookfield. I was greeted by smiling, encouraging, and welcoming staff. They were so eager even after feeling my fear of trying on clothes, and having recently losing twenty pounds, I had no idea what size I should be wearing. I was literally no help. Ha!

I walked in with my jeans on and casual t-shirt, looking pretty plain-jane. The amazing staff asked me my likes and dislikes, we talked sizes, they made suggestions. They brought me tops, bottoms, accessories and so much more right to me in the fitting room. I also looked around, but since I knew I needed help, I let them choose most of everything to at least try on. There were items I would NEVER EVER think to to try on from the hanger, but once I tried it after the initial (omg I am not going to like it)–I thought, WOW! This is awesome!

I fell in love with so many pieces. Let’s talk jeans. We all heard the stereotypical coined term “mom jeans,” am I right? Ok, we think frumpy, unflattering, unfashionable and super practical right?

Umm, NO! Just because we are moms, does not mean that are not a women. You know what? We still got it! Rock your body, in every shape and size. #DRESSLIKEAMOM #EVEREVE

I legit tried on jeans I LOVED instantly. It’s like those stylists were inside my head. They even eyeballed me and chose the size, style, and comfort level. They fit like a glove. I wanted them all! They also had me try a bit edgier styles like camo-they were cute, just not my thing. But, yes I found jeans! Oh and they are skinny jeans, and my daughter is so excited! She told me, “mom, you look so good, like such a hot mama!” Haha.

I felt empowered by their suggestions and also appreciated their honesty. I never felt rushed, or forced to “like,” anything. I was also honest, and told them when something just wasn’t me. EVEREVE’s store manager, Melissa Thorsen literally told me, “I want you to really like it and still feel like yourself in it.” Meaning, you can still look good and be comfortable at the same time. Staying true to who you are.  We are all different shapes and sizes, we have different styles and limits.

But in the end, we are all women. Women who are just trying to do our best and feel our best. As moms we often put of kids, our significant others, family, and even friends before us. But, let me tell you, you need to take care of yourself, and pamper yourself a bit. Get out of your comfort zone and come to EverEve, you can walk right in, and grab a stylist to help you, you will get the same experience as I did. You can even create a profile with your sizes, and items you pick out, which means—any of your loved ones can ask for your profile when they walk in and buy you a gift–think Mother’s Day!
