Pippy Pants, a local Oconomowoc mom shares her dream

We had the chance to learn all about Katy Prushiek, a local mom from Oconomowoc who had a dream and turned it into reality.

My husband (Chris) and I have two children Brady (3) and Ella (1). I first became frustrated with socks when Brady began crawling (to this day we still have the same issues, and his sister has the same issues too). He would take his socks off constantly. Even when we were in the car he would take his socks off, and this was especially aggravating during the cold winter months. I’d have to search endlessly as to where he tossed his socks, and no way could I take him in a store (or elsewhere) barefoot. This wasn’t my only issue with socks. When I took my son outside (especially the cold months) he would have an ankle gap, you know that area of skin showing between the socks and pants. No matter what I tried this gap was always showing, and just made being outside more of a struggle.

My frustration with socks didn’t end there. I had other issues such as not finding matching socks, socks getting lost in the washing machine, and having to purchase way too many socks. This is when I thought, why can’t I just sew the socks to the pants, then all these issues would be solved! Pippy Pants was born! I had my friend (whose an amazing seamstress) sew a couple pairs so I could test the concept out. I fell in love with the pants, all of my issues were magically gone! This is when I realized I wanted to turn my idea into a business. I filed for a patent, which is currently patent-pending, and started on my business journey. Since then I’ve been working hard to make sure we will have quality pants that are comfy, and ensure the pants will be loved by all who own them. Currently we are live on Kickstarter !

We plan on making more styles and designs as our company progresses. Here are some main points about Pippy Pants:

Pants and Socks UNITE!

The Pippy Pants Difference:
* NO more kiddos removing socks
* NO more searching endlessly for matching socks
* NO more matching socks to their partners
* NO more socks lost in the washing machine
* NO more figuring out which socks still fit
* NO more ankle gap when it’s cold outside
…AND they still look like you’re wearing regular pants and socks.
