Lake Country St. Patrick’s Day Fun 2019 Round Up

“St. Patrick’s Day is an enchanted time-a day to begin transforming winter’s dreams into summer’s magic.”
-Adrienne Cook

St. Paddy’s day is almost upon us! Although the way it’s celebrated in my house has, ahem, changed drastically since the kids came along, it’s still one of my most favorite times of year. St. Patrick’s Day is usually one of the first spring holidays and a first sign that the long winter is almost over and the easy, breezy days of summer are getting closer. Whether you claim Irish ancestors as part of your heritage or you’re just Irish at heart, it’s always fun to take part in St. Patrick’s Day festivities. I’ve rounded up just a sample of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations going on around Lake Country for you to check out. There are plenty of family friendly options as well as some with a much more adult vibe because, let’s be honest, throwing back a green beer or an Irish whiskey is also part of the fun!
One of the great Midwest St. Patrick’s Day traditions includes taking in a performance of the Irish Trinity Dancers. If you’ve never seen them perform, you really should, they are amazing to watch!

Jennifer Hocevar

My name is Jen and I am so excited to be one of the new contributors to Lake Country Mom! I live in Oconomowoc with my husband and our two busy kids. My son, Zach is 13 and in 8th grade and my daughter, Addison is 11 and in 5th grade. Most evenings and weekends you will find me tooling around Lake Country in my minivan driving kids to various sports and activities. My husband and I swear we used to do things on weekends that did not involve youth sports at one point in our lives but, for the life of us, we can’t remember what they were. If I do have free time, I love to write and dream of publishing a novel someday. I also love traveling and am a sucker for any DIY craft that lets me use my glue gun. I adore living here in Lake Country and can’t wait to share some of my adventures with you! // Follow along on Instagram // Follow Filling up My Cup blog

We love you, Lake Country!
