Something I didn’t know I needed.

Oh, mamas! As we celebrate Mother’s Day in May-we think of typical gifts for moms, flowers, handmade cards, jewelry, spa days! 

I am a pretty simple girl, a simple mom. Basic things in life make me content. A few days ago I had such a treat. I was invited to Periwinkle Beauty Studio — a private studio space in Oconomowoc. Susanna runs + owns this beautiful space as a licensed esthetician offering customized skincare treatments and DMK Enzyme Therapy.

The studio was beautiful with a calm and relaxing ambiance. Beautiful bedding and lighting. Pretty, simple faint music playing in the background. I was greeted with an extremely warm welcome by Susanna, kind and soft spoken. A gentle soul. She had me fill out a form about about any skin concerns I was having. For me, it drier skin, acne (even in my thirties) and the onset of wrinkles. Oh, the wrinkles. 

She recommended a couple of services. I changed from my clothes into comfortable gown. I soaked my feet in a calming basin. Then I snuggled into the spa bed, it was so warm, fluffy and I immediately felt my body at ease. It was just what I needed.

The services began. Started with cleansing my face, chest, neck. It was so relaxing with each stroke of the brush to my face.  She then set me up for Led Light Therapy, it is excellent for acne, anti-aging, rosacea, and eczema. It helps to increase circulation, accelerate tissue repair, kill acne bacteria, decrease inflammation, and improve skin tone, texture and clarity. That was on for about 30 minutes. While I waited, massages to my feet, calves, arms and hands were done, gently and relaxing.

Then the fun happened: DMK Enzyme Therapy. A series of prepping my face, and feeling the action with each stroke of the brush. It has a tightening affect, almost like glorified clear/white mud that hardens. But in the most pleasant way. 

 

DMK Enzyme Therapy is known as the “Game of Thrones” facial and for it’s “Plasmatic Effect”. DMK Enzyme Therapy is true oxygenation of the skin. It is the most powerful, effective method for hydrolyzing dead cell material from the skin tissues. Not only are your veins and capillaries being fed nutrition, but the toxins are also being eliminated through lymphatic drainage. It rebuilds and restores the skin’s vital, internal processes to optimal function. It took roughly over an hour or so. 
 
 
 
After the DMK Enzyme Therapy was wiped away, my face, neck and chest felt pure and soft. I am not sure what she used afterwards, but the lotions she use after had subtle fragrances and the feeling of calm continued. 
 
I was there for around two hours total from start to finish. Some of the best two hours of my life. Everyone should have the experience I was fortunate to have. 
 
Everyone has different skin issues and needs. Dry skin, oily skin, acne, aging, clogged pores, you name it. There is a service just for you. Maybe you are just looking for a spa day to feel a sense of relaxation.
