Please join us on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 10AM for the ribbon cutting which will include a figure skating demonstration by a single skater and a synchronized skating team as well as a hockey demonstration. We will have hot chocolate courtesy of Milwaukee Street Traders and special guest, Olympic Gold Medalist Speed Skater Bonnie Blair. Note:

Oakwood Community Park is a 39-acre park located on the northwest corner of STH 83 and Oakwood Road. Oakwood Community Park offers hiking in the summer, cross country skiing in the winter and in the spring of 2014, the City of Delafield is adding a Disc Golf Course.

Historically, the City of Delafield utilizes St. John’s pond for ice skating, however, due to the weather and ice conditions, we are unable to keep it open on a regular basis. Therefore the City of Delafield Park and Recreation Commission is pleased to announce the opening of an ice skating rink in Oakwood Community Park, which is expected to be ready for use in mid-December, pending weather conditions.

The ice skating rink is 52 feet x 100 feet. There will be two hockey goals available, is free to use and will have a portable restroom and benches. Users must bring their own skates and are encouraged to wear helmets and other protective equipment such as elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards.
