Lake Country Montessori Preschool
Do you know the difference between a traditional preschool and a Montessori preschool? If not, it’s okay- I wasn’t even one hundred percent sure I knew the difference. I have had friends and family that have had their kids attend Montessori schools. I listened to their stories and what they learned about. I was intrigued. I recently had the chance to tour Lake Country Montessori in Hartland. I was greeted by Molly, she was such a delight! What a warm welcome I felt. I was introduced to the philosophy of Montessori.
I wanted to hear and see more…
Molly gave me a tour, I got the chance to see the two classrooms-so organized, everything so in it’s place. She described each area of learning, and development. What really stuck out to me was little preschoolers are learning how to be self sufficient. How to do their dishes, not just plastic “fake” dishes, how to handle porcelain plates! How great. This is just one small example of the uniqueness of Lake Country Montessori. The main difference is, Montessori is a “whole-child approach,” whereas traditional education’s main focus is academics. Personally for me, my daughter went to a traditional preschool. But we raised her at a young age to help us out, to teach her things and let her help with things around the house. We have really noticed an increase in self motivation, perseverance and self confidence. If I was educated on the Montessori style of learning back then, it would have been the method I chose. I invite you to keep reading and learn more about what they have to offer!

Lake Country Montessori is unique in the Lake a Country area, as we provide a true Montessori environment. Children arrive as young as 2 1/2 years old, as they are beginning to discover their potential. After only a week or two at our school, parents tell us that their child grows with self confidence and joy! She has gained a new sense of self, showing confidence in herself and her newfound abilities. She has found a place that is all her own, where she can learn from the other children around her and choose her own purposeful work. -from their website
