We cannot think of a better way to get to know the owners of local businesses, community leaders, makers and shakers than to ask them questions to learn their knowledge, advice, wisdom, challenges, wins, and maybe some fun personal tidbits as well. Tell me more about yourself and what you currently do, tell us all the things. I am a photographer. I love to bring colorful emotive photographs of you and your family into your home. All of my photos show through how you are feeling in the moment and display the love you all have for each other.
WHAT WAS THE FINAL PUSH TO FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS AND START on your own? WHAT WAS THE “AHA” MOMENT FOR YOU? Ok, so we have all been to Netties in Pewaukee right? I used to love going there to enjoy a drink occasionally. I love the owner, he always makes you feel at home. I wanted to create a business that had the same atmosphere. I wanted to give my family moments that would last for a lifetime and give them a hometown feel photography service!
WHAT’S THE BEST PART ABOUT BEING YOUR OWN BOSS? Well, I am a single mom and my girls need me. I love that I can still go to all their events at school and still run my business. OOH, and the occasional office days hanging at home drinking my tea and jamming out are a plus!
How to you juggle and balance being a single mama + run a successful photography business? Oh, this is a great question! I truly have to plan out everything I do. I make social media content calendars and only book out what I know I can handle a month.
HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN YOU MADE YOUR FIRST SALE? WHAT DID YOU DO TO CELEBRATE that? LOVE THIS! I honestly am going to say.. I still do a happy dance when ANY sale comes in.. THANk YOU! to all of you at that book with me.. you keep food in my kids tummies and you allow me to be creative and do something I love!
What have been the highlights? What’s the best part of your job? Truthfully, the best part, I am a people person. I love meeting every single one of YOU!
What is your niche in photography? What is your style? I would say family photos are more my niche and candid is best way to describe me!
Why should someone hire you? What sets you apart from all the other local photographers? I would say I have a very unique style.. I don’t follow the same “trends” as everyone else and when you book with me you get a full photography service. I offer hair and makeup through a very accredited stylist beauty unveiled by tia.. and help with stylizing so you don’t have to worry about your outfits the day of. BEST PART! You get basically a free comedy show the day of your shoot because I am never serious!
