Otto’s Art Academy | Classes Now Enrolling

Otto’s began eight years ago with a vision to offer art classes to children ages 5-12 in the Waukesha area. They say once you open the doors to your business it becomes it’s own entity. How true that statement is……. Otto’s now offers classes for teens, adults, summer camps and offers art parties. Students come from all areas. Not to mention, many of  their students have been coming for five years or more.

Does your child love drawing? Could they spend hours coloring and painting? Then give them a space to create!

At Otto’s we teach the basics of fine art. Students will learn how to draw from basic shapes and then use color, tone and texture to make their pictures look more realistic. Each child chooses their own picture and creates at their own pace. As students progress through the program they will learn traditional art mediums such as pastel, watercolor, charcoal and oil. A typical classroom setting has many students doing a variety of mediums. This allows for children to excel at their own speed and not feel that they have to keep up with an entire class.

Summer Art Camp 2014!

June 16th-20th – 9am-Noon Animals in Art

Multi-Media art projects showcasing student’s favorite animals and their habitats. Furry and not so furry friends will be visiting Otto’s throughout the week to be models for our drawings.

June 23rd-27th – 9am-Noon Outdoor Art

Some fun in the sun with sidewalk chalk, spray bottle painting, and simply being inspired by nature to make watercolor masterpieces.

June 30th-July 4th (No Camp)

July 7th-11th – 9am-Noon I’m an Impressionist

Students will receive introductory lessons on painting techniques from the impressionist movement. Geared for a beginning level artist as well as the more advanced student. Students will create their own Impressionist masterpiece.

July 14th-18th – 9am- Noon Picasso Monsters

Imaginations will run wild!! Multi-media class, clay, paint, pastels you name it…students will make their own Picasso inspired book of monsters.

July 21st-25th – 9am-Noon Art in Nature

Students will spend time walking to local parks observing and drawing from nature. This will be a true “plein air” artist experience.

August 4th-8th – 9am-Noon Wearable Art

Students will be splatter painting T-shirts! Fashionable Otto’s shirts will be provided. We will also be designing and making jewelry and hair pieces. Fashion drawing 101 throughout the week.

August 11th-15th – 9am-Noon Art Appreciation

Walking to local galleries and speaking to local artists will give inspiration for a gallery ready piece. We will end the week off with a Milwaukee Art Museum trip!! Family is welcome! Here you will learn a little about art history as well as have time to draw from your favorite work of art.

August 18th- 22nd – 9am-Noon Pop-Art Pastels

Art Parties

Have your next party at Otto’s! Rent our space for two hours. The first hour is dedicated to art. You choose the artwork, then you and your friends will follow along with an instructor to draw, color and create a realistic picture. The second hour is for you to spend with your friends.
