Halloween Fun at Home
This year has definitely been different to say the least, and no one knows what our new normal will look like. Going into the colder months, we are going to be spending more time indoors and many holidays may look quite a bit different this year. Halloween is up next […]
Easter, curbside.
Easter brunch may look and feel a little different this year. Since we all should stay home due to COVID-19, gathering with family and friends on Easter is likely not happening for us this year… we are safer at home, after all. But, we can still enjoy good, local food […]

I’m 40 years old and I still believe in Santa Claus.
I’m 40 years old and I still believe in Santa Claus. Okay, maybe not the jolly man in a red suit who flies in a sleigh led by 8 magic reindeer (or is it 9…do we count Rudolph?), but I 100% believe in what Santa Claus represents.

Hosting a Successful Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving – a day of forgiveness…..no it’s a day of being thankful. A day gratitude and blessings and being with friends and family. THE FEAR DISTRICT AND A LAKE COUNTRY HAUNTED HOUSE ROUND UP!
Lake Country in October is one of my favorite times of year. The fall colors and crisp air seem to turn our little corner of the world into an even more magical place to live. While I love to throw back a Pumpkin Spice Latte, take a stroll through a bucolic storybook apple orchard or light up my autumn leaves scented candles and fully embrace sweater weather with the best of them, there’s also something to be said for getting into the spooky side of October as well. In my opinion, no one does Halloween quite like Lake Country.

Love local, Valentine
Each year, approximately 150 million Valentine’s cards are exchanged for the holiday, second only to Christmas. Do you remember being a kid in grade school and creating a “mailbox” to accept your classmates’ cards, treats and candies? I remember this day well from my childhood, I even did singing telegrams […]

unexpected gifts that make the biggest impression / buy local
In our opinion, it’s the unexpected gifts that make the biggest impression. The ones that are handmade; the ones that are from the heart; the ones that tell a story. Buying local and handcrafted is rewarding for the gift-giver, the recipient, and the maker.
